STAMFORD, CT-RFR Realty LLC has named Margaret Carlson as its new portfolio director for its recently acquired 1.6 million-sf Stamford office portfolio. RFR Holding of New York City, parent of RFR Realty, acquired the former Stamford portfolio of Equity Office Properties Trust from the Blackstone Group of New York City in August of this year in a deal worth approximately $850 million.

Carlson served 16 years as managing director for Equity Office Properties, overseeing the same seven-building Stamford portfolio now owned by RFR Realty. During her time with Equity Office, she leased more than seven million sf of space.

The RFR Realty portfolio includes the four-building Stamford Plaza office complex, Canterbury Green, 300 Atlantic St. and 177 Broad St. The acquisition has given RFR a 24% stake in the Stamford commercial office market. Carlson, who has 21 years real estate experience, is responsible for overseeing property management, leasing and marketing for the RFR Realty properties.

“Margaret is one of the most respected individuals in Fairfield County commercial real estate and we are delighted to welcome her to RFR Realty,” says Mark Granata Jr., president of RFR Realty. “She is an extremely effective executive whose success is the result of her innovative ideas and business acumen.”

Besides her work in the real estate arena, the Fairfield, CT resident has been heavily involved in community and charitable activities in the Fairfield County area. She is the former president and a current board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford. Carlson also serves as co-chairperson of the annual golf outings for the Stamford Symphony and the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford. In 2002, she was honored as the March of Dimes “Real Estate Person of the Year.” In 2004, she received the “Guardian of the Community” award from the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford.
