Lighthouse Spinoff Will Focus on Outreach

[IMGCAP(1)]PLAINVIEW, NY-The Lighthouse Development Group LLC has created the Lighthouse Foundation, an organization that will receive an initial endowment of $1 million from Charles Wang, owner of the New York Islanders and Dragons and RexCorp Realty. According to the Foundation, its mission is to nurture opportunities that strengthen the communities and institutions that surround the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum and the $2 billion Lighthouse Project here.

According to a statement, the Foundation seeks to create new opportunities for future generations of Long Islanders by supporting development of education and job creation programs with the goal of improving the region’s quality of life. The group notes that it will actively participate in community events, arrange scholarships, create home ownership opportunities and work to create new career possibilities on Long Island, with local groups, schools, and businesses which call the surrounding communities their home.
