BUFORD, GA-Sporting apparel and equipment manufacturer Mizuno USA signed a 301,320-sf lease at Hamilton Mill Business Center Building I. The company, which has its US headquarters in Norcross, will use the space for storage, assembly and distribution of its products. The 10-year lease takes effect Feb. 1.
"Mizuno has an existing facility in Norcross and was looking for another property in close proximity to it," IDI VP of leasing Lisa Ward tells GlobeSt.com. "The design of this building suits their needs."
Hamilton Mill Business Center is owned by Atlanta-based IDI. Located in the northeast/Interstate 85 industrial submarket of Atlanta, Building I is a class A, 870,480-sf distribution building. The facility features 32-foot clear height ceilings, a 185-foot deep truck court, 54-foot by 50- to 60-foot column spacing and early suppression fast response sprinklers. The remaining 569,160 sf in the building is vacant. "This is a great deal for IDI," Ward says. "As a Japanese-owned firm we like the opportunity to do business with other Japanese companies."
Upon final build out, Hamilton Mill Business Center will feature up to 13 buildings totaling four million sf. Also at Hamilton Mill, Office Depot occupies the entire 550,000-sf Building H and Global Equipment occupies all of 647,228-sf Building M. Building B, a 131,042-sf building, is occupied by MP Equipment Co., the Ritescreen Co. and Therapak Corp. Currently, seven of the planned buildings, with a total of more than 2.5 million sf, have been constructed. Construction on the other six buildings, that will contain approximately 800,000 sf, has not yet been started, Ward says.
