POET Expands its Office HQ to 114,000 SF

SIOUX FALLS, SD-The world's largest ethanol producer doubled its office staff following the surge in renewable energy use nationwide.

SIOUX FALLS, SD-Ethanol manufacturer POET has opened its 76,000-sf office expansion of its headquarters here. The building at 4615 North Lewis Ave. is now 114,000 sf, and has 200 employees at the site.

The 20-year-old company, formerly known as Broin, has 21 ethanol production facilities in six states, including Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, Indiana and South Dakota. The firm is also under construction with six more facilities in Ohio, Minnesota and Indiana, says a company spokesman. POET produces about 1.1 billion gallons of ethanol a year, he says, and employs more than 1,300 people across the Midwest.
