Ideal Begins Second Phase of 235-Acre Park

SYCAMORE, IL-Ideal Industries Inc., based here, has started the second phase of the Sycamore Prairie Business Park, at the intersection of Bethany and Peace roads. The 235-acre business park is expected to have a total of nearly one million sf of mostly industrial space when complete, says Bruce Granger, senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis, which is marketing the park. The cost for the project was not disclosed.

The park is near the Interstate 88 interchange at Peace Road. “There is approximately 50 acres that is currently having roads and infrastructure developed as the second phase of the park,” Granger says. The infrastructure work is expected to be completed in the spring, he says. “Suter Foods is the most recent addition to the park,” Granger says. The Suter Co., based here, recently acquired 13 acres at the park. A 50,000-sf warehouse is complete soon and is expected to open on Dec. 1. Suter expects to expand in phases on the additional land.
