PERTH AMBOY, NJ-US Foodservice has leased 452,000 sf at the new Amboy Corporate Center located here. The 64-acre, 1.1-million-sf warehouse and distribution facility is being developed by Rutherford-based Morris Cos. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

US Foodservice's lease is in the center's first building, which features more than 600,000 sf of space. A second building of 517,000 sf is also available for lease.

The building will be ready for occupancy in the second quarter of 2008. Daniel Frankel, SVP with Colliers Houston, the site's leasing agent, predicts that the corporate center will create 300 to 400 new jobs in the city.

The center is close to New York City, Port Newark and Newark Liberty International Airport. Companies that lease space at the center are eligible for urban enterprise zone benefits. The corporate center is part of the Portfield Initiatives, an effort by the New Jersey Economic Development Agency and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to identify redevelopment sites near New Jersey's ports.
