The center, which is scheduled to open in winter 2008, is currently 50% preleased. It will be anchored by Kohl's and Staples with other tenants including Wachovia, Bank of America, Fifth Third Bank, Mattress Giant, Qdoba, Million Dollar Nails and Gamer's World. Woolbright is seeking additional fashion-, food- and service-related tenants.

Woolbright Development vice president Brahm Scoler tells GlobeSt.com that the project has direct access to Interstate 75 and is located about three miles from a large office complex. This is the company's first project in Miramar. In addition to the office building, there are 3,000 residential units either in the planning stages or under construction, Woolbright Development leasing agent Anahi Quino tells GlobeSt.com. "This center will serve Pembroke Pines in addition to Miramar," Scoler says.

Miramar is the second largest city in Broward County and has been experiencing population and residential growth in recent years. Almost 5,000 people are expected to move within a three-mile radius of the project in the next five years. "Over the years Miramar has attracted many Fortune 500 companies, and not too long ago Southwest Broward County was one of the fastest growing areas in the country," says Woolbright president Duane Stiller. "That growth is expected to continue, making this a prime area for shopping centers."
