Venable Expands Presence in Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY-The law firm, which currently leases 27,000 sf in the Chrysler Building, is taking a five-year sublease for 52,000 sf at Rockefeller Center.

NEW YORK CITY-The 550-attorney Venable LLP, based in Washington, DC, entered the Manhattan market in 2005 with its integration of litigation boutique Heard & O’Toole LLP. Now, the firm is expanding its presence with the relocation of its office to 1270 Ave. of the Americas.

The firm, which currently leases 27,000 sf in the Chrysler Building, is taking a five-year sublease for 52,000 sf at the Rockefeller Center building. In a little more than two years, having more than doubled the number of attorneys in the city, Venable needed a larger space to accommodate its growing practice in the city, according to a company statement.The firm will now take contiguous office space at 1270 Ave. of the Americas to accommodate its growth. The 31-story building, completed in 1932, is best known for its location adjacent to Radio City Music Hall.
