Freed Signs More Retail Tenants to Block 37

CHICAGO-The company is completing the previously impossible, adding tenants to a downtown block that has been vacant through many failed proposals.

CHICAGO-Joseph Freed and Associates LLC, based here, has leased more than 36% of its retail project at Block 37. Freed and Associates has leased a total of 102,500 sf of the 280,000-sf 108 North State Street project, says Paul Fitzpatrick, project manager and VP of development for Freed.

A total of five tenants have signed leases for the project. David Barton Gym has signed a lease for 35,000 sf; Rosa Mexicano has signed a lease for 14,000 sf for a restaurant; Muvico Entertainment LLC has signed a lease for 35,000 sf, and Club Monaco has signed a lease for 3,500 sf for men and women’s fashions with a retail concept owned by Polo Ralph Lauren, Fitzpatrick tells GlobeSt.com.

Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc. also has signed a lease for 15,000 sf for yet to be disclosed restaurant concepts. The company’s founder and chairman Richard Melman says in a statement that there will be “a new dining concept for the third floor project as well as a new coffee idea for street level.”
