Campanelli Buy Sparks 1M-SF Mixed-Use Plan

NORTON, MA-In a deal that could tee off a major mixed-use complex here, the Campanelli Cos. has acquired 90 acres abutting the TPC-Boston Golf Course, a parcel already permitted for one million sf of development. TPC has brought the likes of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson to the South Shore since opening in 2002, and Campanelli principal Robert DeMarco predicts the world-class venue’s “status and allure” will attract corporate, high-tech and life sciences companies, as well as demand for hospitality and retail space.

“We think it’s a fantastic headquarters location,” DeMarco tells GlobeSt.com after acquiring the site from the Park at Great Woods. “We’re pretty excited about it.” Because of the permits in place, as well as infrastructure such as roads, sewer and utilities, Campanelli considers the venture a fast-track opportunity, says DeMarco. As such, his Braintree-based firm is already entertaining–and pursuing–several possible requirements, including a leading life sciences company circulating in the market.
