BROOKLYN, NY-V3 Hotels began construction on a luxury 164-room boutique Hotel Indigo to be located at 237 Duffield St., adding a significant boost to Downtown Brooklyn’s ongoing revitalization. The facility, which plans to open in early 2010, will be one of the first Hotel Indigo properties in the New York metropolitan area.
In building this as its flagship facility, V3 Hotels has partnered with both InterContinental Hotels Group and Graves World Hospitality. The property is owned by V3 Hotels and will be managed by Graves World Hospitality, under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
According to a company statement, the hotel, which will feature high-end rooms, supplemented by more than 15,000 sf of retail space, is one of the crown jewels in the booming building efforts under way in the Downtown Brooklyn area, which includes the New Fulton Mall and the Atlantic Yards projects, as well as a host of new construction and development in the residential, commercial and retail sectors. “Downtown Brooklyn is experiencing a major boom in every sector across the board, and the hotel industry is poised to capitalize on this wonderful time for one of the country’s most historic cities,” notes Ben Nash, CEO of V3 Hotel in a prepared statement.
