National Gateway Breaks Ground

ARLINGTON, VA-Phase I--National Gateway I and II--will provide 365,000 sf of office space and a 70,000-sf retail component.

ARLINGTON, VA-The Meridian Group has broken ground on the first phase of National Gateway, a project here that when delivered in 2009 will provide 2.5 million sf of office space, 225,000 sf of restaurants, shopping and services, 625 hotel rooms, and 1,500 new residential units. Phase 1 of the project, National Gateway I and II will provide 365,000-sf of office space and a 70,000-sf retail component.

Meridian has signed on LA Fitness and Wachovia Bank to anchor the retail piece for Phase 1. Another 18,000 sf of restaurants and shops will be part of the amenity base.
