According to Interstate CEO Thomas Hewitt, the two firms are looking at other areas in which to grow their relationship. "We have a long-standing relationship with FFC and are thrilled to have this opportunity to work with them again."

The Courtyard by Marriott Westborough is a 98-key property situated in the Westborough Technology Park, 20 miles west of downtown Boston. The Courtyard by Marriott Orange, a 121-room hotel, is located close to Yale University and downtown New Haven. It has nearly 4,000-sf of meeting space that can accommodate up 250 people.

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been growing its portfolio of acquired properties; it now owns seven hotels and has a minority ownership interest through JVs in 22 hotels and resorts. In December, for example, it formed a joint venture with Harte Holdings of Cork, Ireland to acquire four hotels from affiliates of locally based Blackstone Group LP for an aggregate price of $207.8 million. Last year, it also acquired three properties from affiliates of the Blackstone Group LP for $118 million. Management contracts, through, remain the firm's bread-and-butter. With this new mandate from FFC Capital Corp. the company now has 192 hotel properties under management.
