For MGM Mirage, Evans is responsible for implementing the company's strategic development plan and leading its regional development teams. He will identify and pursue opportunities on a global basis to establish, through the execution of management contracts and the formation of strategic development joint ventures. To that end, MGM Mirage recently announced an agreement to develop MGM Grand Abu Dhabi and says it is in discussions for several additional development opportunities around the world.
Evans has been with Marriott since 1988. Prior his job in London, Evans was Marriott's VP of hotel development in the Asia-Pacific region, based in Hong Kong, and, prior to that, was the company's VP of global asset management, based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Marriott, Evans was an attorney in private practice in Miami.
