As chief marketing officer, Butler was in charge of raising institutional capital. Since joining Capri, the company has received more than $500 million in new capital, she says. In her new position, Butler will continue to focus on raising capital with additional duties of overseeing the company's investment, finance and marketing personnel.

Butler says that one of her first goals will be to make sure the company has the "people, processes and culture" for the company to reach its objective of doubling revenue and profits within the next five years. Capri currently has more than $4 billion in assets and commitments under management, she says, including a partnership with Houston-based PM Realty Group teamed Chicago to become developer for the highly publicized $500-million Park Lane development in Dallas, which is to feature three million sf of mixed-use.

Butler has previously worked for UBS Global Asset Management, Brinson Partners and Bear Stearns. She is the chair-elect of the National Association of Securities Professionals, a national organization for minorities and women in the securities and investment management professions.
