State Awards $5M Environmental Contract

TRENTON-The New Jersey Schools Development Authority has awarded a $5-million contract to the Whitman Cos. of East Brunswick and project partner Hacbm Architects, Engineers and Planners of Lawrenceville related to school site assessments. The two firms have worked together on a number of school projects in recent years, and Whitman has worked with SDA and its predecessor New Jersey Schools Construction Corp. for several years.

The contract runs for three years with an option for a fourth. During that term, Whitman, an environmental engineering and management firm, will be responsible for completing environmental due diligence, assessing remediation liability and limited site remediation and oversight. The SDA manages and funds school construction projects in 31 districts statewide.
