"There are only so many places a company can go and stay in this market and K Street has a highly recognizable address," Richard Tonner, one of the leasing agents, tells GlobeSt.com. Phillip Thomas, Zeke Dodson and Kimball Wood are also working on the account at Cassidy & Pinkard.
The company will be targeting the traditional tenants that like East End offices--law firms and higher end trade associations, Tonner adds. With vacant 28,000-sf floor plates, the building also is one of the few places in the District that offers such large blocks of space. Asking rates for the available space will range between $39 per sf to $44 per sf, Tonner says.
A 10-story building, 1101 K St. was designed by Davis Carter Scott and includes such amenities as a fitness center and rooftop terrace. Brasserie Beck restaurant, a noted DC eating establishment, anchors the retail portion of the building. FTI Consulting occupies a portion of the office space. Tonner says that since it signed the deal a few weeks ago with JBG, initial feelers on the street have been good. "We have seen a rise in the level of tenant activity for this building, reflecting a continued demand for high quality space."
