NEW YORK CITY-The New York City Law Department will renew its lease at 100 Church St., continuing to occupy six floors. This lease renewal affirms the demand for commercial real estate in Downtown Manhattan. Lease Terms were not disclosed. Those close to the deal could not confirm to GlobeSt.com how many total sf were renewed.
A source close to the deal tells GlobeSt.com that the tenant has leased at the property since as early as 1978. The source adds that asking rent at the building currently ranges from $48 to $53 per rentable sf, depending on the location.
“It is a wonderful show of support for Downtown Manhattan to have our city’s Law Department exercise their option to remain at 100 Church St.,” says Alex Sapir, president of the locally based Sapir Organization. “We are pleased that the New York City Law Department remains on our tenant roster and we are confident that we will continue to enjoy a long and harmonious relationship.”
