The five-story Hampton Inn & Suites will be the first in the park. A project cost was not released. "We chose the Miramar Park of Commerce for our newest hotel because it's conveniently located off the Florida Turnpike, close to Dolphin Stadium and is home to many Fortune 500 companies," says Luckey's Management president and CEO Jay Patel.

Completion of the project is scheduled for February 2009. The hotel will be built off Red Road overlooking the park's lake. Amenities will include 1,500 sf of conference facilities, a business center, fitness center and outdoor pool.

Sunbeam Properties, the developer of the Miramar Park of Commerce, represented the park in the transaction. "With more than 190 companies and nearly 10,000 employees, the park is a natural location for a hotel in Miramar," says Sunbeam Properties vice president Maridee Bell, in a prepared statement. "The Hampton Inn & Suites not only will be a nice addition for our tenants, but for the community as well."

The Miramar Park of Commerce has nearly five million sf with more than 190 companies located in the park, such as American Express, Federal Express, Spirit Airlines, DHL, XPEDX, Premier Beverage, Caterpillar, Neiman Marcus, Quest Diagnostics and Sears.

Hotels in Luckey's Management portfolio include Best Western Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port in Ft. Lauderdale, Best Western Sebastian Hotel & Suites in Sebastian, Candlewood Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port in Ft. Lauderdale and Comfort Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport West in Davie.
