Mr. Coffey began his career in the hotel business in 1971 and joined Red Lion Hotels in 1981, when it was known as Goodale & Barbieri. He was named COO of the company in 1990, and in 1997 became the company's EVP/CFO. Coffey became president and chief executive in April 2003 and subsequently led it through a reorganization of its core brand while increasing the company's share price. Coffey says in a prepared statement that he will take several months off before beginning to pursue "personal business ventures" this fall.
Narayan came to Red Lion as EVP/CFO in late 2004 from Best Western International Inc., where he held various executive roles. As CFO for Red Lion, he led the company through a five million share public offering in 2006, a substantial restructuring of debt and a new $50 million revolving credit facility.
Red Lion Hotels Corp. owns, operates and franchises of upscale and midscale full service hotels under its Red Lion brand. The company's hotel network comprises 9,078 rooms in 52 hotels in eight states and one Canadian province. The company also owns and operates an entertainment and event ticket distribution business.
