The university, which will be the sole occupant in the building, plans to open the center in mid-2008. The academic facility will feature featuring programs such as education, mental health counseling, physician assistant and nursing, which will expand to offer a baccalaureate program.

"This centralized southwestern Florida location will allow us to accommodate our students who live throughout Southwest Florida," says Nova Southeastern University Southwest Florida Student Educational Center regional director Joe Pepe.

Jim Garinger and Jim Tamblyn, of Colliers Arnold, represented the landlord, AIM Engineering. UGL Equis' Tampa office represented the university in the deal.

The building is located near Interstate 75 and Colonial Boulevard, which will provide access for both students and employees. "University officials knew they wanted to locate in this specific area," says UGL Equis' Tampa office vice president and office head Todd Brandon. "We were able to find space that fit the school's requirements, including sole occupancy, signage rights and adequate parking."

The school's main campus is in Fort Lauderdale, but it also has student educational centers in Tampa, the Kendall section of Miami, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Jacksonville and the Bahamas.
