Laurence Steinberg, director of the Center City office of Michael Salove Co. Commercial Real Estate, represented both companies in these unrelated transactions. Each has an aggregate value of more than $2 million, according to Steinberg.

Goodburger currently has four New York City locations. Its Philadelphia unit will open this spring and it will have a liquor license. "This exciting concept will add to the great lineup of tenants on this block of Chestnut Street that includes Sephora, DiBruno's and South Moon Under," Steinberg says.

Mad River originated on New York's Upper East Side in 1998 and now has units in Baltimore Charleston, SC and Albany, as well as one here at 126 Chestnut St. in the Old City neighborhood, which is east of Broad Street. Of the Sansom Street location, Steinberg says, "these talented restaurant and bar operators recognize the great opportunity of locating near Rittenhouse Square." The restaurant is scheduled to open this summer under a concept that has yet to be named.
