Retailers Lease 91,000 SF at Hawthorne Works

CICERO, IL-Three new retailers have signed leases for a total of 91,000 sf at the Hawthorne Works Shopping Center, at the southeast corner of Cicero and Cermak avenues. Cermak Produce has signed a lease for 50,000 sf for a grocery store. FASMA signed a lease for 33,000 sf for an electronics, furniture and appliances store and Anna’s Linens has signed a lease for approximately 8,000 sf, says Peter Graham, with CB Richard Ellis.

Cermak Produce signed a lease with a term of 10 years with options, Graham says. The term for FASMA’s lease is 15 years and the term for Anna’s Linens’ lease is five years. The space in Hawthorne Works is the first Midwest location for FASMA, based in Monterey, Mexico. The retailer chose Cicero because “they were looking for high Hispanic and Latino areas and that is one of the highest densities of Hispanics in Chicagoland,” Graham says. Robert Mendoza, with LMR Real Estate, represented FASMA in the lease transaction.
