Senior Lifestyle Names Cobb President/CEO

CHICAGO-John Cobb says his first duty will be to focus on strategic planning for the firm, which has 71 properties, and could see 15% growth.

CHICAGO-Senior Lifestyle Corp., a locally based developer, manager and owner of senior housing communities, has appointed John Cobb as president and CEO. Cobb assumes the new position today, March 17. William Kaplan, who founded the company in 1985, had been the CEO and will continue as chairman.

Cobb had previously been with GE Healthcare Financial Services for 10 years. Most recently, Cobb had served as senior managing director of the real estate finance division for the GE firm, during which time the company’s portfolio grew from $1.5 billion to more than $9 billion. He says he has known Kaplan for a number of years and worked with him three to four years ago when GE and Senior Lifestyle “did a large transaction together.”
