Redback Networks Doubles Vancouver Campus

VANCOVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA-Broadband outfit Redback networks has signed a 67,305-sf seven-and-a-half-year lease here in the Burnaby area, doubling the size of its Vancouver operations. The company has moved from a 29,600-sf location in Willingdon Park to a different building in the facility, which is operated by Calgary-based Tonko Realty Advisors for owner Holdings 1507 Enterprises Ltd.

The move allows the San Jose, CA-based Redback, which is owned by global technology firm Ericsson, to increase its number of employees to 300 from its current total of 183. Redbank plans to hire an additional 60 workers in the area, according to a company statement.

“Canada has talented telecom engineers, specifically in the Greater Vancouver market,” a Redback spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. Worldwide, the firm employs more than 1,000 people.
