The 251,620-sf building at 201 W. Big Beaver Rd. is owned by the Multi-Employer Property Trust, which is managed by an asset management firm based in Washington, says Doug Krieger, senior associate with CB Richard Ellis in Detroit. He and Brendan George, also with CBRE in Detroit, represented the building owner. John Ozog, formerly with Staubach Co., was Booz Allen Hamilton's tenant representative.

Krieger says the Columbia Center I office will be a new location for Booz Allen Hamilton. The company chose the building, in part, "because of the global nature of their work, they wanted an environment that gave a prestigious image," he says. Also, he says the inbound tenant's concern about security was eased by Columbia Center's level of protection. He says there are "64 cameras throughout the complex and parking structure that are monitored 24 hours." Other amenities are a conference center with wireless Internet, health spa, bank and attached fitness center.

Developed since 1989, the class A complex has three buildings, with 580,000 sf. Overall occupancy is 90%. The quoted rate is $26 per sf gross.
