The two hotels will fly the Hyatt flag. The anchor hotel will be a 151-room Hyatt Place, the other a Summerfield Suites. Restaurant tenants will include Champps Americana, El Paso Grill & Bar-B-Que and Three Tomatoes & a Mozzarella.
"There will be significant interplay between the center and the surrounding area conference centers and office complexes that are currently under construction," says David Glimcher, president of the Scottsdale, AZ-based company. "With over 518,000 people living within a five-mile radius, we expect to fill a significant void in the community with unique restaurant opportunities."
Located on the southeast corner of Roseville Parkway and Gibson Drive, the center will be called Highland Place. Amenities will include pedestrian walking areas, large public spaces, fountains and valet parking. Completion is expected in May 2009.
A recent California retail sales report by the Eureka Group found that retail sales in Roseville grew to $3.76 billion in 2007, up 11.5% from 2006. The results place Roseville 10th in the state for total retail sales, following only large metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Jose.
A recent city report found that developers completed approximately 200,000 sf of new office development in 2007 on a base of about eight million sf. As of June 2007, 1.2 million sf of new office space was under construction and an additional two million sf was approved but not yet under construction. The amount of office space in Roseville is expected to double in the next seven years, according to the report.
