"We have been very successful on the brokerage side of data center deals for clients, and now we want to acquire or build centers from the ground up and participate in ownership," says Marin, who will serve as president of the new firm. "We are raising equity and are actively pursuing land and facilities for data centers around the country."

The firm opened an office in Buckhead this week. At Staubach, the team represented clients such as CheckFree, T-Mobile, Intuit, Litton, Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, Lexmark, TimeWarner Cable and Internap among many others.

"As we watched the expansion of the data center market over the past few years, we realized there is increasing demand for more efficient data center solutions and the supply is not keeping pace," Marin says. "The purchase and development of these centers from the ground up does not currently fit Staubach's business model, but we saw the opportunity."
