Doors Open on 14,568-SF Training Center

FORT WORTH-TCC adds another component to AllianceTexas, a mega-employment hub with 170 companies and more coming. A medium-term lease secures the site.

FORT WORTH-Tarrant County College has cut the ribbon on a specialized corporate training site as the latest addition to AllianceTexas, a mega-employment center with 170 companies and 28,000 workers and more on the way. The 14,568-sf office has been secured by a medium-term lease with one extension option.

TCC got first-floor space in Hillwood’s headquarters building, the 57,000-sf Heritage Commons I at 13600 Heritage Pkwy. The office had been used by Texas Christian University for MBA courses, allowing TCC to step into ready-to-go space with classrooms, administrative space and a lecture hall. “This fit very nicely with what they’re doing,” says Joseph Maly, vice president of Hillwood Properties.

Maly tells GlobeSt.com that lease talks began in earnest in March 2007 after long-time on-off discussions about the idea as AllianceTexas’ job count increased through the years and TCC’s Stop Six training center at 5901 Fitzhugh St. proved its mettle for the region’s manufacturing industry. Through the specialized program, companies can hire TCC to train employees for specific jobs. TCC’s new center will service the entire region and not just AllianceTexas companies.
