Baye tells GlobeSt.com that the company is not targeting any particular geographic areas within Atlanta, but likes project inside the perimeter. "Given the traffic in Atlanta, there's been a tremendous growth in Midtown and Buckhead and other infill areas," he says. "Ram is focusing more on those areas than the more suburban locations."

The company recently acquired 17.4 acres in the Lindbergh area of Atlanta with plans to redevelop the former Home Depot Expo site and current PGA Superstore site by building mid-rise, loft-style apartments. The project is located near a Marta station, so it is planned to be a transit-oriented development. Construction of the project is expected to begin in the summer.

The company also recently acquired 6.6 acres in Snellville, GA with plans to redevelop the former Home Depot Landscape Supply site, along with another 4.5-acre site on Scenic Highway, into a retail center. Baye says Ram anticipates breaking ground on the project within the next nine to 12 months. "Atlanta is a great area that continues to have strong growth," he says. "It is particularly popular with the 25 to 34 age demographic which will keep growth strong in the future."
