The project is being undertaken by Craig Zinn Automotive Group, with Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Corp. serving as general contractor. Completion of the nine-acre complex is expected in spring 2009.

"Investing in this new facility brings us significantly closer to our customer base, which includes Aventura, Bal Harbour and Williams Island, and extends from Miami Beach to Hallandale and Hollywood," group president and CEO Craig Zinn said in a released statement.

The new dealership will also have the largest Lexus showroom, service and parts facility in Florida at more than 222,000 sf. It will house 116 service bays and incorporate a four-story, 808,074-sf enclosed parking structure with a 2,000-vehicle capacity. Fort Lauderdale-based Winningham, Bundy & Tice Architects is designing the upscale showroom, which will feature Lexus interior finishes such as dark cherry wood trim, along with granite countertops and porcelain Italian tiles.

Stiles plans to use energy-saving construction techniques and recyclable materials throughout the building process. The dealership will contain numerous "green" features such as an intelligent building management system for heating and cooling, non-absorbent tile flooring in the service department and a containment system for lubricants and chemicals used in the dealership's operations.
