The company plans to open the store in the fourth quarter. David Preston, senior commercial associate with Miami Beach-based Terranova Corp., represented the tenant in the transaction.
Preston tells GlobeSt.com that EQ3 selected the location because of the large number of furniture stores in the area. "The store caters to young, urban professionals and Downtown Miami and Miami Beach are two areas where its customer base is located," he says.
EQ3 offers rooms of affordable furnishings for living alone or with others. The designs are globally inspired, and centered on the desire for a lifestyle of modern living. Started in 2001, the company has 21 stores across North America, with more under construction. EQ3 showrooms are located across Canada in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, London, Ottawa and Burlington. In the United States, stores are located in the San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles, Grand Rapids, Richmond, Norfolk, Charlotte and Phoenix, among others.
Preston adds that the company is looking to open more stores in Florida, although it has not identified a specific number of stores it plans to open. It will look to open three or more stores in Southeast Florida, in areas such as Aventura, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton. It also plans to open stores in Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville. "After the major urban areas have been covered, then we'll look at infill locations," Preston says.
