This assignment called for a design process for the Bank to pursue LEED certification at all of its new banking centers. He also piloted the incorporation of LEED elements into the design of one of the test sites.

In his new role he will be coordinating consulting efforts for LEED project management requests. These can include full certification for new buildings, advisory services for developments that already have a LEED consultant or implementation plan in place, Brown tells GlobeSt.com. CBRE will also offer landlords a "green ready" plan for prospective tenants that may wish to seek CI LEED, he adds.

As part of the new service, CBRE is aiming to have, eventually, all 20 or so of its project management team LEED accredited. Besides Brown, Aaron Turner, who is part of the project management team, and Jennifer Ralph, who is part of the firm's Washington, DC brokerage team, have recently received LEED accreditation.

"We had the first LEED AP broker in the Mid-Atlantic," notes John Germano, senior managing director of CBRE's Washington/Baltimore Region. "Now with Chris Brown in his new role and additional LEED APs in both our project management and brokerage areas we continue to offer our clients the best thinking and practices for sustainability."
