MIAMI-Construction has started on the interior build out of a new 28,000-sf Publix Super Market at Mary Brickell Village, one of seven projects totaling $56 million that the Lakeland-based grocery chain has started or completed in recent months.
The new Publix, which is being constructed by Moss & Associates of Fort Lauderdale, will be part of the mixed-use Mary Brickell Village in the Brickell Avenue corridor. The development also includes condominiums to be built over the four-story Mary Brickell dining, shopping and entertainment complex at South Miami and Tenth avenues.
To maximize retail floor space, the store’s first floor will feature the customer sales and food preparation areas and the second floor/mezzanine will feature administrative offices, break rooms and mechanical equipment. Two floors of parking will be located above the store, which customers can access by service elevators. The store’s mechanical equipment for refrigeration will be installed in the parking area.
