BRUNSWICK, GA-Vertical construction has started at the $2-billion Liberty Harbor project after 18 months of demolition, site preparation and infrastructure work. The first group of custom residences will be completed over the next few months, followed by construction of the marina and condominium units.
“Though it may not have been apparent to the casual observer, an incredible amount of work has been done on the site,” says developer Gary Waxman, principal of Cleveland-based Liberty Harbor LLC. “We have taken down six buildings onsite and relocated all but one of the former tenants. We have installed all of the utilities, including a crucial lift station, which were necessary before vertical construction could begin. We have also built out all of the roads, curbs and gutters, and completed our central lagoon.”
Liberty Harbor is a 155-acre development that will include approximately 2,400 residences and 300 single-family homes along the Brunswick River, 4.6 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The project includes a 450-slip marina that, when completed, will be the largest between Miami and Charleston, SC.
