Picatinny Arsenal

The space is relatively modest--Alliant Techsystems, an Edina, MN-based defense and aerospace contractor with operations in 21 states, has taken 2,850 sf in PARC's initial single-story, 27,000-sf flex building. Officials of the Bedminster, NJ-based Advance Realty expect it to be just the first of many similar companies that will eventually call the spec development home.

"As a long-time contractor with the US Army and Picatinny Arsenal, ATK was seeking office space to expand some of its mission-related activities right on the arsenal," says Brian Banaszynski, Advance's VP of leasing. "Besides proximity, ATK was attracted by Picatinny's many technology and intellectual assets. We expect to soon announce more leases from government contractors, as well as from communications, electronics, homeland security and emerging technology companies."

Monty Dellapi Jr., senior manager of business development at ATK's Picatinny field office says that "securing a physical presence at Picatinny will help us to better understand and support our customers' needs. We do extensive work for the US Army, and having an office on-site will further facilitate the mission-related work we do for them."

Advance is developing PARC in conjunction with InSitech Inc., a partnership intermediary for the US Army. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Space is currently listed with an asking price "by quote."
