MIAMI-Longtime commercial veteran Don Cartwright has resigned as senior vice president of DTZ Rockwood's Miami office to join Cushman & Wakefield of Florida as director of leasing for the firm's client solutions practice. He has been appointed to lead leasing and marketing initiatives for the 1.1 million-sf Wachovia Financial Center in Downtown Miami, the largest class A office tower in Florida.

"I have leased a number of prestigious towers in the Miami market and there's none more prestigious in the state of Florida than Wachovia Financial Center," Cartwright tells GlobeSt.com. "The market in Downtown Miami, which includes Brickell Avenue, is experiencing the highest occupancy in history. There is quite a bit of product being delivered, so one of the missions I want to accomplish is to continue to keep Wachovia Financial Center at the forefront."

Tere Blanca, senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield's Miami office, says bringing on Cartwright is part of the firm's landlord representation expansion. The clients solutions' office, industrial and retail portfolio has more than doubled over the last four years, to almost 10 million sf.

Tim Prunka, who currently spearheads leasing for the 99%-occupied landmark building at 200 Biscayne Boulevard, is resigning from Cushman & Wakefield as of June 1. Prunka cited spending more time with his family as the reason, according to the brokerage.

Cartwright says that he could not pass up the opportunity to get back into project and agency leasing, which has been his professional specialty over the past 25 years, after his time with real estate investment banking firm DTZ. Prior to his position with DTZ, Cartwright was a principal with the Trammell Crow Co. in South Florida and senior vice president and regional leasing director for Florida with Jones Lang LaSalle.
