DC Seeks Co-Developer for 90,000-SF MXD

WASHINGTON, DC-The District is soliciting a partner to develop two city-owned properties behind the Lincoln Theatre into an office, hotel and housing mixed-use community.

WASHINGTON, DC-The District wants to develop a 90,000-sf area on which two city-owned properties are located. They are behind the 88-year-old Lincoln Theatre in the city’s up-and-coming U Street Corridor.

The District will use a portion of the funds generated by the project to support the theater’s operations. “The Lincoln Theatre has an incredible history and great potential,” Mayor Adrian Fenty says in a prepared statement. “This is a perfect example of what we can do when we leverage our assets to get better amenities for our neighborhoods.”
