Kredich has been working with USGBC for a few months, but has only been on board formally, in full-time capacity for a couple of weeks. "I am responsible for USGBC's residential programs and offerings, which includes in the new construction arena, LEED for Homes, as well as remodeling guidelines for single-family homes and multifamilies."
USGBC has already more than 200 hundred multifamily units through its LEED for Homes, he explains, which has been in development for the last seven years and in pilot for the last year-and-a-half. The certifications were granted during the pilot. Now the program is open to all developers who would want a LEED rating for their multifamily projects.
Kredich spent the last five years with Creative Touch Interiors, which provides design center services to homebuilders. In 2004 he led the sale of CTI to Home Depot, and then oversaw its integration into the retailer's operations. When he left, he was General Manager, California & Nevada.
"Nate's experience in the residential market, track record for driving growth, and commitment to USGBC's vision of a sustainable built environment will be extraordinary assets," USGBC president and CEO Rick Fedrizzi, says in a prepared statement.
