"David has been an integral part of Calkain's success," Hipp says. "David's intricate market knowledge and multifaceted research abilities have allowed him tremendous success within this competitive industry."

Sobelman's brokerage experience entails assisting and advising Calkain's clients with large institutional portfolio transactions as well as private investors with 1031 exchange assets. He served as a research analyst with Grubb & Ellis in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, tracking 134 million sf of office and industrial properties.

Before launching his commercial real estate career, Sobelman worked on the presidential advance staff for the Clinton Administration. That job entailed logistics planning and Secret Service coordination for the president's visits, sometimes going to sites up to two weeks in advance, he says.

Sobelman is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers as well as the editorial advisory board of Real Estate Florida. He and his wife, Tanner, are heavily involved in philanthropic endeavors and co-founded the Wellspring Foundation, which provides an outlet for children to experience new cultures, religions, races and nationalities.
