Distribution Firm Signs 184,000-SF Lease

MECHANICSBURG, PA-PBD Worldwide Fulfillment Services fills up nearly half of the former Book of the Month's 550,000-sf warehouse here.

[IMGCAP(1)]MECHANICSBURG, PA-PBD Worldwide Fulfillment Services, an order fulfillment provider, signed an 184,344-sf lease at 1225 S. Market St. here. The order fulfillment company is moving into the former Book of the Month Distribution Center. The aggregate lease value and lease term were not disclosed.

“It’s a great location and certainly we expected it to lease up relatively quickly,” says Bart Anderson, senior associate at CB Richard Ellis. “I think that the building is in the heart of a key distribution market and is why PBD chose to run their operation out of this facility.

[IMGCAP(2)]CBRE brokered lease of the building this week as well as the sale of the building to the Hampshire Cos. last year, as GlobeSt.com previously reported. The warehouse sits near the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Highway 114 and allows tenants access to Routes 81 and 78, which is an ideal choice for a company that needs to ship products on a massive scale.
