"Brett's relationship-building and management skills are unmatched in the industry, and his presence will allow Grubb & Ellis to expand its client relationships both in Atlanta as well as nationally," Steve Dils, executive vice president and managing director of Grubb & Ellis' Atlanta office, said in a released statement.
"The biggest thing for me is that I'm joining a growth company that's expanding and getting their market out there to their client base," Hunsaker tells GlobeSt.com. "That taps into what I do best: client relations and new business development."
Hunsaker spent the last 20 years with CBRE and says it was a tough decision to leave such a great company where he has so many friends. "It was a decision I made to move from being in a local Atlanta market, where we've had great growth, to go back on the national stage and utilize my strengths," he says.
While with CBRE, Hunksaker oversaw 30 investment and agency professionals who generated a record $9.1 billion in transaction volume in 2007. His group was responsible for 15.9 million sf of office leasing and management, plus an industrial portfolio of 30 million sf. He is currently president-elect of the Atlanta Board of Commercial Realtors and founder of Meet At, a commercial real estate networking group.
