TAMPA, FL-Sirion Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical firm focused on vision improvement products, will lease an entire 36,000-sf office building at the Sabal Park business complex on the city's east side. Liberty Property Trust is the owner of Crosspointe II, the building that will become Sirion's new headquarters in June.
Sirion is an existing Liberty tenant, already based at Sabal Park, and has had numerous expansions over the last three years. "We feel it is important to the entire Tampa Bay area to be able to attract and retain these types of high-tech businesses," says Jody Johnston, vice president of Liberty's Tampa office.
"We are happy to be able to continue our great relationship with Liberty in the new space," adds Barry Butler, Sirion president and CEO. The privately owned company develops products aimed at helping patients with ocular disease.
Malvern, PA-based Liberty began work on the tilt-wall Crosspointe II building at Sabal Park in November 2007. The concrete and glass structure, at 9306-9324 Broadway Ave., features numerous green characteristics such as insulated skylights, water-conserving plumbing fixtures and high-efficiency fluorescent lighting with sensor controls. Itasca Construction Associates, Horton Harley Carter Architects and Storr Office Environments worked together to design and build Sirion's new offices.
Liberty is one of Tampa's leading developers and landlords of office and industrial space.
