JACKSONVILLE, FL-After evaluating several other options in the market, Bacardi USA Inc. has decided to renew its 300,000-sf lease at at One Imeson Park Boulevard here. Wayne Schuchts and Ed Lyden of Staubach Co.'s Miami office represented Bacardi in the five-year, $6-million transaction.
Bacardi, a leading sprits producer and widely recognized rum brand, uses the space for domestic distribution. It decided to renew because of the center's proximity to the company's modeling plant four miles away, and its convenience to the Port of Jacksonville.
In addition to assisting Bacardi with its Jacksonville lease, Staubach is also currently providing design/construction consulting services for the company's soon-to-be new headquarters in Coral Gables. The 235,000-sf class A building at 2701 Le Jeune Road is about to top off and is now undergoing interior buildout. The company will relocate from its current headquarters at 2100 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami to the new building, consolidating seven different office facilities and about 700 employees, Schuchts, vice president at Staubach, tells GlobeSt.com. Bacardi is expected to move in during the first quarter of 2009.
Bacardi has been headquartered in Florida for more than 40 years. In addition to its rum variations, the company produces an array of liquors including Bombay Sapphire gin, Grey Goose vodka, Martini & Rossi vermouth and Dewar's Scotch whisky.
