The hotels will rise on five acres at the intersection of Texas 161 and Raspberry Road. The locally based Platinum's tag-team project is compliments of a new license agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group of Atlanta. Dallas-based Patriot Hospitality will manage the duo, which are set to open in second quarter 2010. The Hotel Indigo is penciled to open first and the Crowne Plaza will come on line a month later, an IHG spokeswoman tells GlobeSt.com.

Jim Anhut, senior vice president of IHG franchise development of the Americas, says "we feel that a community as unique as Las Colinas should have a mainstream alternative like Hotel Indigo." In the past four years, the boutique chain has opened 15 locations in the US. Hotel Indigo's signature features include spa-inspired showers, Phitness studio with cardio equipment, Phi Bar, business center and wireless Internet throughout the hotel.

According to an IHG press release, the hotels will be married as one structure "in order to preserve the aesthetic importance of Las Colinas." To differentiate the brands, there will be separate entrances, but shared public areas, including the fitness center and swimming pool. The Crowne Plaza will have more than 8,000 sf of meeting and banquet space, with the developer planning to build the chain's new prototype. Its features package includes a restaurant, lounge, business center and gift shop. Platinum's architect is Schon Design.
