The lease has a total value of more than $23 million, according to a released statement from Op2mize LLC, which represented Assemblers in the lease transaction. A representative from Op2mize did not respond to a phone call seeking comment.
Assemblers was already leasing a smaller amount of space in the building "for a short time," according to the released statement. The company will be expanding into warehouse and assembly space in the building. The property is on the city's southwest side, near Chicago's Marquette Park community, on a 30-acre, rail-served site and is in an enterprise zone. The property also has reduced property taxes due to a Class 6b status from the Cook County Assessor. The facility, which was constructed in 2001, has 30 foot ceilings, exterior docks and energy-efficient lighting and heating systems, according to the released statement. Assemblers will be leasing approximately 70% of the building with 208,000 sf available. The asking lease rate is $3.50, triple net, according to a leasing marketing brochure.
