Szollosi Jumps from Macklowe to Cohen Brothers

NEW YORK CITY-Veteran real estate executive Michael Szollosi has joined locally based Cohen Brothers Realty Corp., a private commercial property owner and manager, as COO and SVP. He most recently served as COO of Macklowe Properties, the New York City development company currently in the process of selling its General Motors Building as well as three other Manhattan skyscrapers to Boston Properties, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.

In his new post, Szollosi will oversee an assorted commercial real estate portfolio that includes more than 12 million sf of class A Manhattan office buildings as well as showroom and design centers in New York, Florida, West Los Angeles and Houston. Cohen Brothers’ owns and manages Manhattan properties including: 623 Fifth Ave.; 135 E. 57th St., 805 Third Ave., 750 Lexington Ave., 622 Third Ave., 3 Park Ave., 979 Third Ave., 3 E. 54th St., 475 Park Ave. S.; and the D & D Building at 979 Third Ave.

A source close to Cohen Brothers tells GlobeSt.com that Szollosi’s responsibilities at Cohen are “pretty much the same as they were at Macklowe Properties.” The source could not reveal details as to what attracted Szollosi’s to Cohen, or his reasons for leaving Macklowe Properties.
