Dollar Tree Division Inks 10,000 SF

PHILADELPHIA-Deal$, which features merchandise priced at under five dollars, will move into Grant Plaza in Northeast Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA-Deal$, a division of Dollar Tree, inked a 10,000-sf lease at Grant Plaza in Northeast Philadelphia. The Plaza, located at 1619 Grant Ave., boasts national retailers Dairy Queen, Dunkin Donuts and a UA movie theater as tenants.

Deal$ offers merchandise for $5 or less. The stores, which average 11,000 sf, operate in 16 states. The Deal$ store in Grant Plaza will replace an Eckerd Drugs and is expected to open later this year. Donna Drew, an associate with Metro Commercial Real Estate Inc. in Philadelphia represented Dollar Tree in the transaction.

As previously reported by GlobeSt.com, the Dollar Tree brand has been expanding aggressively in the Philadelphia market, partly driven by a rise in consumers seeking bargains during uncertain economic times. Dollar Tree revealed plans to open five new stores in the Philadelphia region by November, and recently signed leases in Eagleville, PA and New Britain, PA.
