ORLANDO, FL-Millennia Crossing, a 100,000-sf retail development on the city's west side, has landed Nordstrom Rack as its anchor. The discount outlet for Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. will occupy 35,000 sf within the open-air shopping center upon its opening next spring.
Millenia Crossing is being built on nine acres at Conroy Road and Eastgate Drive, near the Mall at Millenia, Orlando's most upscale indoor mall. Ikea, the Swedish-based home furnishings giant, opened a store in the same area last fall.
Madison, WI-based E.J. Plesko & Associates Inc. is the developer of Millenia Crossing, with Madison Marquette serving as its leasing consultant. The new lease represents only the second Nordstrom Rack location in Florida, the other being at the Oasis at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise. Nordstrom also has several full-scale department stores statewide.
"Nordstrom Rack will be a great fit with the area's already successful retail," says Chuck Taylor, senior vice president with Madison Marquette in Fort Lauderdale and the leasing consultant for Millenia Crossing. He notes that the center is currently reviewing retail and restaurant concepts that will complement its anchor.
