The Smart & Final building is located at 7050 Katella Ave., close to the 405 and 22 freeways. It is the anchor in its strip center. Target, Beverages & More, Ross and Staples are situated across the street and on the opposite corners of the intersection. Smart & Final Inc. operates 229 non-membership warehouse stores in the western US and northwest Mexico under the Smart & Final (183 stores) and United Grocers Cash & Carry (46 stores) names.
The Smart & Final project marks the second purchase of an Albertsons property in Stanton for Heslin Becker, which is a shopping center investment and development company specializing in acquiring and developing retail portfolios and properties throughout the Western US. The other Albertsons that Heslin Becker bought in Stanton was an 80,000-sf store at 7910 Katella Ave. that the company converted to a Food4Less.
Earlier this year, Heslin Becker unveiled a 30,000-sf project in the center of Pico Rivera, CA called Pico Plaza retail center. Heslin Becker built the Pico Plaza center, which features a Rite Aid as one of its anchors, as a redevelopment and repositioning project on a site that had been vacant for nearly 10 years.
